If anyone has bought Windows Vista Ultimate Retail, Can you tell me if the Product key is on the outside of the case or inside the sealed case?

I bought the full retail Vista Ultimate (Full version).
CD-Key is inside the sealed box.

I'm buying one off an auction site and I want to know that If I buy a sealed version, then there is no possibility that the key has been used.
