Windows Vista RTM Build 5840

Hi just got sent this build from microsoft and i have to say it is very good just would like to no if any of you have this build if so what do you think of it and do you still have problems with it.

The people who have it will no that you have the real boot screen also you don t have the tag on the desktop.

I would show you a screen shot but i am new to the fourms so i don t no how if someone could tell me how to put a screen shot on the fourm then i would be happy to.

I have 5600 model which I've found good but quite slow compared to XP Pro which I'm using now...

I might upgrade, but its a huge cost that I just cant warrent spending at the moment....

IIRC thats the TAP build from a couple of weeks ago. Internal builds are upto 6000.x now, as reported by various sources on the net.

Most people seem to be saying RTM is "imminent", probably within the week.

No it was sent in a email from microsoft Because i do some testing for them

RTM is build 6000.16386.061101-2205. Should be out any day now.

Is anyone gonna buy Vista when it hits the streets? And if so, what edition of Vista are you going to buy and why...

I'm trying to work out if its worth buying. £325 seems a heck of a lot of money for a single OS system. With buying two 'copies' for my two machines, it would cost £650!! Now that's half the money I need for new hardware! :eek:

Is there an x64 version of 5840 floating about anywhere? I can only acquire the 32-bit builds...

I think i will buy the windows vista ultimate coz if you don t you will spend the next 3-5 years thinking what am i missing what is it like to have the best os i mean £325 is for the next 3 years at least thats not bad.

Yeah there is only if you are a tester for microsoft

Don't be daft. He'll not be waiting for them to approve the contents, he'll already have seen the build and will be waiting for MS to release the NDA that will allow it to be published.

yeah i think he's referring to ms allowing him to post the review (when the build is out) rather than ms reading over it to and cutting bits out etc
