Hi, could someone help me choosing a copy of vista.
I want to put it on my pc now, but if i upgrade at a later date i want to be able to take it off this pc and put it on my new one if that makes sense!
There are so many different versions im stuck on what one to get?
Is this the one that i need?

Vista Home Premium, Retail is the best choice as it is a superb version and you can use it again and again when you format / upgrade your PC.

You have 3 main versions.

Basic
Home Premium
Ultimate

Home Premium has the Aero interface, where Basic does not.
Ultimate has Aero, and Ultimate Extras, where Basic and Home Premium do not (except Home Premium has Aero).

There are other things, but those are the ones that most home users will care about. There's a comparison table on Microsoft's website if you want to know more.

I went for Home Premium btw. ;)

if you need remote desktop, get business or ultimate (ultimate has a few little extras)

if you don't need remote desktop, then get home basic or home premium

just have a look to compare the two

if you don't have a good reason to upgrade, i'd stick with xp!
