Hi all,
I've been using Windows XP for years but recently my computer decided to die and I've ordered a new one.
Unfortunately the new one comes with Windows Vista. It does include a voucher to upgrade to Windows 7 when that's out, but that's for another thread.
So for the moment, I'll be stuck with Vista.
Can anybody give me a list of what tweaks/optimisations can be made? For example, in XP I'm used to removing everything unnecessary from start up... Is this the same? Any other settings worth looking at?
Finally, is there any way to obtain a setup similar to Windows XP Classic mode? This is a family machine and keeping it as similar as possible to XP Classic would be great (I started to use classic to make the parent’s transition from Windows 98 to XP easier all those years ago!).
The new computer should be here in a day or so, therefore I'd like to be prepared to set it up as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Any hints and tips welcomed! Thanks.
