So I installed a recommended update which was a driver update for NForce4 sata controller. Now my computer won't boot. It just restarts repeatedly when trying to boot into Vista, and it even does this when booting into safe mode. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Thanks,

Michael.

Can you boot in safe mode and do a system restore? Never - ever - let Windows Update provide hardware drivers. It'll screw your PC up something rotten.

Press F8 repeatedly at boot up to get the boot menu. From here select "Last Known Good Configuration" then cross your fingers.

Tried that one already with no luck. I'll give the repair option a try. I can't believe Microsoft offer drivers like this on their update service. You'd think they'd test them first! I really can't be bothered with reinstalling Vista right now.
