Hi
I just started my stuides for the MCITP cert, and have a small dilemma.
on the official course book from microsoft, it says you can only upgrade from Windows 2000, or windows XP - to windows vista.

On the CBT-NUGGETS videos (of the vista test, 70-620), it says the following:

which to believe? i am kinda amazed how the information is not equal on both...

I'd believe the former as that's what I would have said before looking at the pic. The pic states that you cannot crossgrade from 32 to 64 bit which I KNOW is wrong, so I'd take the rest with a pinch of salt.

I am still a bit confused, and will be happy if someone can clarify the following for me, with official microsoft links, to show that it's correct and true.
A) From which older versions of windows, can u upgrade to windows vista and into what versions of vista? (Again, upgrade, not clean install).
B) Within windows vista versions, which can be upgraded to which? I read that: Home basic and home premium can be upgraded to ultimate (And home basic to premium), and that Business edition and enterprise edition can be upgraded to ultimate as well (And business to enterprise). is this correct and not missing anything?
C) Can you upgrade from a 32bit OS to a 64bit OS and vice versa, or you can not?

thank you very much.

Just had a quick look on technet and found these, I havent read them through to be honest but they appear to be on the right track.

32 Bit install options / upgrades

64 Bit install options / upgrades

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932795/

Hope this is of some use. I just want to say one thing which is what I was told when I started out in IT and I hope you don't take offence, which is that a good engineer isn't expected to know everything but he does know how to find out.

I suppose to a degree asking for help on a forum is one way but it would have been far quicker to jump onto technet.

I totally agree, and to be honest I've seen those links already, went through a deep search but i keep seeing different information on sites, hence why.
