Windows Vista Upgrade

Do you have to have Legal Windows XP to use the Vista Upgrade disc?

yes and also no..

u need a valid license to upgrade from....

as for the disk, theres a workaround so u can install it without having xp installed.

Well on my laptop - see sig, i have Windows XP Pro with a license key (With SP2), however, one day i reformatted and used my own Windows XP pro disc (i wasnt supplied by Sony with one) when i tried the key that is on the bottom of my laptop, it wouldnt work. :S

your laptop xp pro disk would be OEM..

but when u install vista u won't need to enter the xp key.. only the vista key...
