Windows will not copy file to pen drive

Firstly, I apologise if this is in the wrong place, wasnt sure where to put it.

I have a 16GB pen drive, which at the minute, is empty. I have tried to copy a 7.5GB file to the drive, but Windows XP Pro says there is not enough space.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the quick reply, I'll convert the drive and see what happens.

Thanks for the replies guys, I formatted the drive to NTFS and the file is copying over.
