To add Iv just built the system today. Tried to install Windows 7 from DVD e and that brings up blue bsod. Now I have no clue with the new gigabyte UEFI. I may tomorrow try and make a bootable Windows 8 usb as I also have a key for that.

Little stressed I am!

It might actually help if you gave more information on what the BSOD said. They are not just random messages sent to taunt you, they will normally give an idea of where the issue lies (RAM whether fault, voltage, or speed, or HDD settings like IDE/AHCI etc).

You might want to try memtest+ and HDD diagnostic to rule out those parts.

Could also be a power supply issue, maybe you missed one of the motherboard power connectors.

I don't have another computer to do memtest or HDD diagnostic.

As I say only built it yesterday when all arrived from Ocuk.

I shall make sure all is plugged in for power and double check all connections.
I will also report back with the error message.

You don't need another computer to do a memtest, just a USB pendrive. Go to Memtest86, download the ISO file for either USB or DVD, then use it to create a bootable memory tester.

For HDD diagnostic, it depends on the drive. For SSDs, there aren't really any normal diagnostic tools, although something like MHDD might work (may need Rufus to create bootable USB from CDROM image).
For HDD, get the diagnostic tool based on HDD manufacturer (google HDD diagnostic tool "manufacturers name").

My guess would be either faulty/undervolted RAM, or a BIOS setting which is causing a conflict when Windows setup tries to do something.

specs and error message from the bsod?

And in the meantime you could try booting into a live linux environment, could just be a bit of corruption on your usb.

I will post them up later. Going to try another usb later also

Specs:
I5 4690k
Gigabyte z97x sli
8 gb Team group Vulcan @2133
Crusial 250gb ssd
2x seagate 1tb HDD
Evga 650w gold g2
Kfa2 GTX 970 ex

Will post error message soon.

Hi again all,

Managed to get to my computer tonight and I:

-made sure all cables were seated properly
-made sure all power cables were all seated
-remade my windows 8 install usb onto another usb
-took out 1 stick of ram, 1 left in system.

and managed to boot into the windows install straight away and busy installing windows 8 right now.

Should I once windows is installed put back in the ram or could it be faulty?
