Windows won't show battery info

Hi guys

My gf has a Compaq Presario C300, We have had windows xp pro and now vista ultimate on it,

neither o/s show how many hours/minutes are remianing when powered by the battery, it just shows a percentage and occaisonaly it says "Plugged in, Not Charging" even when the battery is low.

anyone know what to do there is no other problems on the laptop and it is an original hp/compaq battery and charger

try the latest bios from the compaq website

some laptops don't show time just percentage, never worked out why, a program called battery mon will show capacity and estimated time. But its possible your battery is dyeing also.
