Windows keeps hanging on my samsung laptop when shutting down it hang when it says 'windows is shutting down'

What you guys think?

some kind of spyware-virus. had that a lot till i got rid of norton and replaced with kapersky, seems to be better.

Best thing to do in finding a prog that refuses to close down and freezes the system is insert the XP disk and run SFC /SCANNOW to remove windows off the suspect list. Try to reboot.
Fire up Spybot and switch to advance mode. Disable each startup item one at a time, then reboot. The one before the successful shutdown was the guilty culprit. Enable all the others and reboot to confirm it.

have you checked the startup tab in msconfig mate, clear out anything that isnt necassary and that should sort it :)

Do you use the welcome screen or the windows classic logon? If it is the former, change it to the classic logon and then see what happens :)
