Windows wont wake up with ATI ?

This issue only happens on my ATI setups.
When I plop in an nVidia card, the issue goes away.

When I come back to my PC, it simply wont wake up from sleeping.

I have even disabled sleeping and just turned off the monitor and it still fails to react to mouse movements, or rather it does, everyhting fires up as it should, the keyboard lights up and the HD whirs into action etc, but the display just goes blank... The screen comes on as it should and the LED goes from off to BLUE and then to ORANGE and then back off again after some time.

What AMD GPU and drivers are you using? I remember this use to happen to me on my 7950 with early drivers due to Zerocore problems, but a couple of months after newer drivers were fine (from mid 2012 if I remember correctly).
