I know theres a 10 connection limit in XP but does anyone if this is limited to IP address? I have 15 client PC's that use a map drive to another XP machine (their server :D ) if I add another NIC to the server and assign some of the machines to use the new NIC will this work?

Nope, it's 10 concurrent connections through all interfaces.

pretty sure that 'share connections' is limited to 10 or 12 and can't be unlocked, you need a server os for this -in my last job, they had a printer share on a 2000 machine, once it reached 10-12 people it'd stop letting others connect

thought the outgoing tcp/ip connection limit was for things like torrent connections etc which can be unlocked with this http://www.lvllord.de/?lang=en&url=downloads

that sounds like my issue, I think I'm going to install a Linux file server instead that should fix the problem
