I created a standard windows text document on a Windows XP desktop at work to make a reminder message. When I later tried to delete it using right click, the desktop screen goes blank for 3 seconds, when screen comes back on the text document is still there. The only way I can delete it is by dragging it in to the recycle bin, opening the bin and selecting delete from the recycle bin file menu.

When I use the PC I like to un-tick auto align for desktop icons to separate mine from the windows icons, however when the screen goes blank (as above) the icons are auto aligned again and the option is ticked again too... any idea what is causing this to happen?
