Windows XP CD Key issue...

Hello,

I am trying to reinstall a laptop.

Its a Acer with no recovery disks

I booted of my WinXP Pro SP3 disk and started the install, got to the CD Key point in the install and it keeps rejecting the CD Key. The key is under the laptop on the proper XP sticker.

After looking closer it turns out the laptop was supplied with Windows XP Media Centre Edition.

Can anyone tell me if the CD Key under the laptop will work with a WinXP Pro disk ?? or does Media Centre edition have different keys.

i need an XP home OEM disk for my laptop but only have a home RETAIL disk at my disposal
