Windows XP CD not bootable?

I've downloaded my free copy of Windows XP from MSDN:AA which comes in the form of an ISO. I've tried putting this ISO on a CD, and I've tried extracting it and putting the result on the CD, but either way my laptop refuses to boot from it. I've even tried taking the hard drive off the boot list, and still it won't boot from the CD. What am I doing wrong?

Did you just put the iso on a disk, or did you burn it as a iso?

If you just put it on a disk there is your problem.

Is that not going to be the same as me extracting the files, then burning them onto the disk?

And Dutchman, I have tried all of your suggestions bar your last one which I believe is the same as the above?

Thanks marc. Stopped using my head and just followed instructions and it worked first time. Sorry for the wasteful thread!
