I have been called by a friend whose PC is crashing everytime they select an icon or pogram from the start menu. The PC boots OK but they can do nothing with it.
They phoned a support line for the PC manufacturer who, before they realised that the PC was out of waranty, told them it was common and they needed a Windows XP recovery disk.
Does this sound reasonable? They don't have a recovery disk and I wondered if I could take a spare copy of XP along and use that?
They have Media edition while I have professional - would that make a difference?
