How many times do i get to reactivate on the same hardware with an OEM copy of XP Home. I presume its as many times as i want as long as I don't change hardware?.

Possibly not, MS changed the rules so you can only activate it once by the internet. After that you have to call them.

I have reactivated it on the same hardware 3 times over the internet, and reactivated on a change of hardware using Microshafts automated service on the phone they then gave me a new installation id and all was good. So can anyone confirm i can re activate as many times as i want with the same hardware?

Yes you can activate it as many times as you want, either over the internet or the phone, dosent really matter either way you do it, your still activating it :)

But I already upgraded motherboard in my dad and reinstalled XP SP2 OEM version as activation already accepted that I did about more tha 6 times - 3 times upgraded motherboards and 3 or 4 times upgrade new hard drive - it went accepted re-activation after i finished reinstalled cos I found it was same username you typing during installation - if different then activation wont accept that how it happened both in Retail and OEM - if same then it accepted without problems --COMPETITOR -- mine used retail and OEM for my dad (not same product code key - just different each PC) so it went fine. When I reinstalled XP SP2 retail version and typed differnt username then it wont accept through activation and i tried to reformat and start again and typed my name as first one then it went through ok so think it may depend what you typing your name during installation if it same when you install at the begin like this x.x.xxxxx that if you typing same name with dots during reinstall many time then activation usual accept but without dots or middle name then it wont accept is it quite strange??

Could you say that again in English?

Sorry - Im mixed up with English - anyway it can re-activation if you upgrade any hardware with XP Sp2 OEM version but you need to reformat and reinstall Windows that usual work fine - if you dont reformat+reinstall then re-activation will pop up to ask you to activate again if it accept or not

I usual upgrade any motherboards then reformat hard drive and then reinstall Windows XP then it work fine with re-activation by using OEM version - ive done many time but type your same name during installation with product code key - if you know what I mean. :)

Actually, you can activate as many times as you want and still have a hardware change, it just needs to be the same machine (MS defines the machine as having *** same motherboard through it's life), and still have the COA sticker on the side of the case.

As long as you keep to the EULA and stay licence, MS are obliged to let you activate.
