I'm new to Windows XP and I have to buy 3 licenses so the savings will be significant depending on which version I choose. What are the main differences between the two, i.e. what will Professional allow me to do that I can't do in Home?

Thanks a bunch

having used both simultaneously, i find that resource management in XP home is a little more slack.

also, in XP pro, you can encrypt files so that only that account that encrypted them can open them.

Home editon doesnt really support domains and such like.

Im sure if you google it you will find more examples :)

Yeah home edition doesn't support domains/ftp server.
Much to my dissappointment when I brought my lappy :(
To the OP: This topic has been discussed a few times here, if you search a bit you might find some other useful info.
IMO XP Pro does have better resource/system management and a lot of extra tweaky things ;) But unless you want to be messing with things like Domains and Group Policy etc, you're better off sticking with XP Home and saving the cash :)
