Windows XP Issue...

Ok, so I changed motherboard from an ASUS Premium to an ASUS Deluxe and reformatted my computer and went to install Windows XP Professional.

In a nutshell there was a confliction with the ACPI, Windows would not install with it enabled but would not start without it.

To get by this I disabled ACPI and installed windows and then set it so Windows would start.

The reason I am mentioning this here as a problem is that every one in five times I start my computer, as soon as you get to the point where Windows is showing the status bar it simply stays at this point with the statues bar showing activity but won’t do anything until I restart my computer, then all is fine.

I’ve never seen this before, I tried waiting for silly lengths of time to see if it actually starts but I does not.

I’m thinking of reformatting again but I fear that I will simply find the same issue with the ACPI and find myself at this point again as a result.

This ACPI issue may have nothing to do with Windows not starting up but since both things happened at the same time on the same computer I thought it wise to mention.

Any advice?
