Windows XP Problem

Hi, Ive just reformatted my computer with Windows XP SP2 32bit, and left it to update.

Now whenever I reboot, when i hear that annoying startup sound just after the XP loading screen, my desktop doesn't load for 30~ seconds, and its doing my head in.

How long have you been getting it?


Last week Automatic Updates alerted me of an update, so i downloaded and installed it, and rebooted and it started doing it then. I wound me up so I decided to try out XP 64bit. But due to some software I use not working to well with it, I today decided to go back to XP32bit. And after updating it, its started doing it again So I'm pretty sure it isn't just a dodgy install.
