well i'm here, but everytime i try to access a folder, i'm greeted with ACCESS DENIED.

have i missed something?

Have you defferenatly put the right admin password in?

what are you trying to do? I often find using the repair tool is easier than trying to use the recovery console

im trying to delete deamon tools as a file is conflicting with a system file in windows xp which isn't letting me load up windows.

i wasn't asked for my admin password, i was just greeted with the c:\ as soon as i got into recovery console.

Chiz0r?

Is it a manufactured PC such as advent or packard bell(end)?

I know some of those lock down the recovery console so your forced to use the recovery disk/partition.

Download Unlocker 1.8 free tool!!

Wright click on the folder, icon rtc... then kill proccess or use unlock, then delete....

Sounds to me the stuff that you are trying to delete stell uses system processes.

Have you tried booting into safe mode with command prompt? probably the best way for you to access what you want to do. Also if you can get into windows then Unlocker is the best thing out there for getting rid of unwanted files.

How can you use the recovery console to repair a copy of Windows?

There was no repair option when installing Windows so I'm forced to use the recovery console.
