I have coursework to give tomorrow and my windows XP decided not to boot up after my mom turned off the computer when my sister was watching video from her computer through the network.
I did the usual start config, start from previous setting, all the safe mode and normal mode and windows xp logo appears and reboots the computer.
I tried repairing the windows xp 2 ways.
1. install windows > agree terms & condition > repair
Nothing is detected and simply empty window.
2. repair > dos screen
again it doesnt detect windows, and when i enter bootcfg /rebuild, it recommends CHKDSK, when types CHKDSK message appears with "one or more file is corrupt".
Tried other options such as fixboot, fixmbr etc doesn't work.
Any ideas?
I don't have floppy drive in my computer or any floppy drive atm to try repairing the Western Digital HDD.
EDIT: If windows Repair can't detect the HDD, will it mean I have to use Parition Magic to format and install windows fresh?
any suggestions would help.
