Hi,

I have had a retail SP2 XP CD for a fair few years now, i know i should have made a backup but i didn't, however to cut a long story short my CD is now knackered and i would like to do a fresh reinstall with SP3, i have my original product key sticker but i need an original vanilla xp CD, i really don't want to download a torrent one as they can be dodgy. Does Microsoft offer a download service for customers with legitimate licence keys?

Thanks in advance

As a retail customer, I think there are special provisions out there. Give them a call and ask...

If it is retail Microsoft will send you a new CD, if it is OEM you need to contact where you bought it so i don't expect you would get much luck, as i found out when i lost my OEM CD.
Or that is how it was a few years ago, don't know if XP support has changed since vista.
