Windows XP SP2 Resume Issue

I hope someone here can help, but for the 1st time ever i used the Windows Hibernate mode with my windows xp sp2 machine, the next day i went to turn it back on and now all it does is hang at the "Resuming Windows" screen with the usual windows black and white progress bar, but nothing happens, there is an option on the screen saying press F8 for startup options but my keyboard wont respond (USB) any ideas ?

P.S This will teach me not to use non Standard Windows features in the future.

try pressing F8 before the resume screen comes up

edit - usb keybaord, ah, sometimes my usb keyboard won't work before if gets into windows if it's plugged into a hub rather than a main usb socket. Also see if there are any keyboard options in the bios?

my 1st idea was to plug in a PS2 keyboard and try the F8, just done that now but no joy nothing happens, when it gets to the screen i described above it simply seems to freeze.
