I have just had someone move into where i live and they asked if they could use my internet connection on their laptop (no problem there). After connecting it (wirelessly) we had the windows update thing come up in the start bar. On checking what it was offering there was sp2 (this lap top it has not been on the net at all and is from early 2004 Pre sp2 i think).
Now the problem....
It has installed sp2 but is stuck on the Performing Cleanup bit of the install and now has been for the last hour or so.
If i look in the task manager there are two enters for sp2 both called update.exe and one of them is using 2,244k and no cpu. The other is using between 9,000 and 27,000k and up to 52 on the cpu.
Is there anyway to be able to get this to finish installing so we can reboot without it affecting anything
Ther lap top is a Toshiba Satellite SA50-112
