Windows XP SP3 - any known bugs/issues?

Also, it might be worth noting that even if you have a fully up to date SP2 setup with all the SP2 updates, when it downloads SP3, it still wants to download the whole shebang it seems????

I dont have a 32Bit O/S on any of my boxes, but I recently got a LapTop and I decided to throw SP3 onto that and I freshly installed XP-SP2 ( Withh all updates up to end of MARCH 2008, so fairly up to date ) and it still wanted a 300MB Update for SP3, so I thought stuff it and I downloaded the whoel lot and slipstreamed SP3 into a CD instead.

But back to the question, its running fine on that.

SP3 is not a major overhaul as SP2 was, its merely all *** SP2 updates in one package and not strictly a new Service pack at all... Much like Windows 2000's Service pack 5 only ended up as a SP4 rollup... This is the same thing but MS have had the nerve to fool people by calling it a new Service pack when its only a roll-up for SP2

Sorry if I'm hijacking thread...
does that mean if I've got a Windows XP Pro SP2 CD here here, I use nLite to slipstream the downloaded SP3 = no need for any updates that I've got inbetween SP2 and SP3?

Just so I know what to add to nLite e.t.c
(Also, does SP3 inc IE7 and WMP11 too?)

Yes, and no - IE7 and WMP11 remain optional.

Yes, but if you really need them or want them, you can always downlaod the stand alone's of them? - add them to the CD yourself?

we've installed it here at work with no problems, but at home it messed all 4 of my PCs up. Couldn't open Computer Manager, Disk Defrag etc. Only fix was to eventually unistall it.

Must have been some software I had installed, but what I don't know.
