windows xp will not stay in standby

i just brought a laser mouse and now windows will not go in standby comes right back out of it

try going into device manager, then into themouse, see if there is an option to "allow this device to wake the computer from standby" or words to that effect.

there is no options there its sayings its an mircosoft mouse when its a trust laser mouse i have also just installed the driver to see if anything chnages and nout

its ok now found the problem out the mouse was pluged in to the usb to ps2 converter that was coursing the problem it needed to be put right in to usb
