I've got a windows xp laptop at home where I can get it to connect to my PEAP network, but every now and again, it keeps asking for the PEAP credentials again. This doesn't happen on my Thinkpad (which doesn't use the windows software for wireles networks) or on my Ubuntu laptop, so I'm guessing it's something funky that windows is doing.

Any ideas what this could be? Any other wireless clients I could use?

what is PEAP, from what i've read, it can go over wired or wireless

if it's windows password credentials, then xp home can't remember them..

PEAP (protected EAP) is just another way of authenticating computers on a network, usually over wireless. Instead of giving the client a huge WPA key, you just need a username and password, and it's just as secure as WPA.

My problem I suppose is the equivalent of windows forgetting what the network key is and having to put it in every now and again. It shouldn't do it. I don't know if the laptop came with a connection manager, but I'll see if one exists for the adapter that's in it.
