If i buy this for my pc

Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition inc. SP2 - OEM - 1Pk

Will i be able to reinstall it if i ever have a problem ? how many times can i do this ?

Also what will i miss from the professinal version ?

Sorry for the noob questions :)

Cheers

oem is supposed to be only used on one pc (ie if you change the motherboard, its a new pc)

you can reinstall as many times as you want

all you'll miss from the retail version is that you're legally allowed to keep upgrading the motherboard all the time with no hassle, and the box

if your current motherboard breaks, you can replace it with a new one and explain to microsoft over the phone to say why you've had to change it, no biggie

-with both versions, you're only allowed to have it installed on one pc at a time

That doesnt sound too bad tbh, i need to buy an operating system for my new pc not sure if to wait for vista tho ? depends on what the price is going to be for a general home user gamer version ? or if i even need to bother with vista ? what do you think ?

look on google for xp mce (media centre edition) with vista upgrade voucher

free upgrade to vista voucher :)

mce is like home, but has a media application that looks like this
mce.jpg

for only a few quid more

the mce upgrade voucher is for 'vista home premium', wheras the xp home upgrade voucher is for 'vista home basic' or something like that...

Hehe the replys just get better and better, i think i've found what i'm looking for, am i ok to post a link on here or is that bad idea ? if it is no worries, thanks for your help it is much appreciated :)
