Windows?

Hey guys

So I have a dilema as I dont know if to get windows 7 or 8.1 as I think windows 7 will end its service in january or something

The PC is mainly for gaming and designing but for all other stuff as well

Haven't heard anything about them stopping service on Windows 7, personal opinion would be to go for Windows 7

win 8.1 if you *have* to get an os now
else try out win 10 preview for now and wait to see if there's an offer on its release

Windows 8.1 is fine. There is so much misinformation out there about it that it is a bit of a joke. My main machine runs vanilla Windows 8.1 and my laptop runs Windows 8.1 with one of those addons that makes it work like Windows 7 and frankly I prefer the vanilla version of Windows 8.1. It is fast, easy to use and once you set it to boot directly to your desktop you don't need to worry about the metro interface.

You need to worry more about extended support when they stop releasing security patches. That's not for another 5 years.

Win8.1 for sure,no point getting a five year old OS when you can have the latest with improved security etc..

Windows 8.1. Use StartIsBack or Start8 if you dislike metro UI.
