Having a few network card issues with Windows7. I normally use the onboard lan on my abit IP35 but windows7 doesn't seem to like this and will not accept the driver i download from abit saying it is not 64bit despite the file being labelled as suitable for vista 64bit.

So I plug in my Netgear WG311T wireless card. Install the latest driver for that and it works. Great! But then the next morning after the computer being switched off it hangs on reboot. I then told it to use last known good configuration and it booted back up but with the netgear drivers uninstalled. I'll reinstall the netgear drivers now but I suspect its the drivers or some piece of netgear software that have upset windows7:mad:

A while back I tried getting a Netgear (WG311) wireless card working under XP 64 and eventually found that the drivers are not for 64-bit and they haven't done any. Don't know if that will change. I had a similar experience to yours, installing the drivers would get the card working but on reboot it wouldn't start up.

hi rob thanks for that. I never had to use it previously on vista 64 as i was just using my gigabit lan

In case anyone is interested the workaround for installing the onboard Marvell Gigabit LAN on the Abit IP35 is do NOT download the driver from abit. Instead get it from the link below direct from Marvell. This is the Vista x64 driver and seems to work fine with windows7. To install it I unzipped it on to my desktop and told the device manager to browse to desktop to install the driver from there. Worked fine.
