Good afternoon all,

Has anyone had any experience with the above, I've set a up a group policy using GPMC in Windows 7 but obviously the Domain Controllers cannot see 90% of the settings due to everything being in a different location.

Is there a way to add the settings (adm/admx templates?) for Server 2008 R2/Windows 7 to a 2003 machine?

Some of these settings are very desirable (how sad..) but as we've just made 10 people redundant getting funding for 2 new domain controllers is out of the question. Haven't got the time or inclination to redo the entire thing again in Server 2003 :(

A virtual image of Server 2008 on the original server (or indeed any machine) possible?

I think any Win7 or 2008 machine ought to be able to create the GPOs. I've certainly created a GPO on a Win 7 system as our Server didn't have the program install which we needed to block (a LogMeIn service, and apparently the only way to do it was on a machine with LogMeIn installed). The GPO worked fine for other Win 7 machines.
