Hi guys wondering if anyone can help.
I have had my overclocked bundle for approx 4months and only a have a couple of minor problems..
Anyway windows 7 reports 6gb but only 4gb usable...?
Indeed there is 6gb in there and cpuz picks up on it but windows reports 4gb usable..This has baffled me and i have let it go as i thought it may of needed a bios upgrade but its not that..
Anyone with any ideas?
Gigabyte ex58 ud5 mobo, i7 920 @3800mhz and 6gb corsair memory its got me stumped...

Can you confirm it is running on a 64 bit operating system? If its only on 32 bit (x86) then it will only show 4GB of RAM.

However there is some known issues, i will have a dig and post back.

EDIT: Go to msconfig (type it in run, or the search at the bottom of the start bar) select the boot tab, select the advanced button and check that no maximum memory is set, if it is just uncheck the box, save, exit and reboot.

Thanks for the replies so far and to answer some of the questions..
Yes it is x64 OS and there is not a check in the maximum memory setting i already had a look at that.. and my graphics card is a 5870..
Thanks guys..

What does your Resource Monitor say about memory usage?

Does it say Hardware reserved for the remaing RAM?

Start\Accessories\System Tools\Resource Monitor and memory tab

Also another thing that might work is

Start\MSCONFIG

Then hit the "boot" tab "advanced option" tick maximum memory then set it to use all memory and reboot the machine.

Hope this helps.

It's probably a dodgy stick of memory seems to be quite common with i7...

You could try underclocking the memory or loosening the timings to see if that helps.

Bang on mate...i decided to test the memory sticks one by one and boot the system up and one of them didnt boot the sytem. I tried it in every slot and it didnt work in any of them kept throwing C1 error at me...
Gonna have to give them guys a ring on Monday see if they can just swap out 1 stick for me or do they have to swap all 3 ?
Anyway thanks pal...
