Hi guys,

I have fully comp. insurance on my car, insured with swinton (its4me). I have recently gotten a chip in my windscreen after getting a stone hit it when i was driving. If I make a claim for it on my insurance to get the chip repaired, will this affect my NCB and/or increase my insurance premium for next year's insurance?
My car is a ford focus ghia (2001) with heated front widescreen
Thanks in advance guys :)

Nope won't make any difference.

If its a chip repair its almost always free just make sure you look on your insurance companys website to see which repairer they prefer you to use.

If its a replacement you'll usualy pay about £60-£70 but again wont make any difference to NCB etc

thanks guys.. the chip in question is very shallow. I attempted to fill it in with some glass/windscreen resin but it would not stay in. Will the glass company be able to repair it? It is about 1 or 2mm deep and the point of maximum depth of the chip.
It doesn't say on their website what company they use.. will have to call them i guess

Easy repair.
