Windscreen crack

Hi all,

Came back to my car earlier to find a approx 6" crack horizontal about 1" from the passenger side pillar.

Can clearly see a stone chip so it must have spread. Didn't notice anything this morning when I drove it but it was raining heavily and I was in a rush so may not have noticed it.

Anyway phone autoclass to get an OEM replacement (have free windscreen cover with admiral) and they are waiting on lead time for the part to give me a date but estimate 2-3 weeks.

Apparently it is perfectly safe to drive the car (according to the auto glass man) unless it obstructs my vision. Now I need to do quite a bit of driving over the next couple of weeks. Is there anyway to help stop the crack spreading along the rest of the windscreen (apart from keeping it in a garage over night, avoiding pot holes etc)?

Thanks

Regular superglue will do just as good a job as the "glass superglue" as will clear acrylic nail polish.
Drill a hole in the end of the crack
This is true although I'd advise using only a glass drill bit (1/16-inch ballpark) and then put glue / nail polish in the hole.
These are temporary repairs ultimately, that said, I had a small crack on my truck's screen a few years back that I put superglue on (after drilling a tiny hole) and the crack was no bigger two years later when it went off lease.....

One thing to bear in mind at this time of year is putting the heaters on full demist in the morning won't help it one bit!
