Hi Guys,

My windscreen is covered in small scratches along the path of the windscreen wiper (wipers have now been replaced). It only really bothers me on a sunny day where the sunlight catches them. Anyone dealt with this before or can recommend me on what action to take in an effort to lessen the scratches visability ?

It's not worth the bother of trying to remove the scratches. You'll be there forever.

Stone, windscreen crack, replace under glass cover of policy.*

*Don't do this

After witnessing someone get their windscreen cracked with a stray football at the weekend this idea did cross my mind :p

Edit: Can you claim something like that off insurance if its not a crack or something, Its only an annoyance?

you need a polishing machine and know how to use one for that though.

You won't get scratches out of glass by hand.

If the OP doesn't have a machine polisher, he'd be better to either A) get it replaced or possibly B) hire a detailer who has done it before to do it for him.

Last time I read up on it, its more hassle then it's worth. Threat yourself to some sunglasses and I doubt you will notice again once its sunny.

this is what most on DW recommend, I've not used it on my car glass yet but used it on my s3 galaxy phone glass lol and it removed all the scratches.

It's very good stuff and comes with the applicators so it's easier to apply.

It takes Forever, and the results are very much skill/time dependant. It gets everywhere and is generally a nightmare.
I did it on my S2000, and I'll never try again

This is something which annoys the heck out of me. My fiesta's had this issue twice now and its been down to the wipers and the way the rubber bends when they're being used. Given up trying to tidy them up :(

I got my screen replaced through my insurance when it wasn't cracked, just general pitting. I just payed the £70 or so.
