Windscreen replacement question

When i bought my car the windscreen had been replaced at some point with one which had no tinting at the top or the fitting included for the standard rear view mirror. I now have a stone chip on the windscreen and it looks likely that it will need to be replaced. Just wondering whether they will replace it like for like or with an original windscreen which i would obviously prefer. If anyone knows i'd be really grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Dependant upon who covers your windscreen they will put in whatever they have in stock or whatever is cheapest.

If you get chatting to a nice guy on the end of the phone he might try to do you a favour, you never know.

i got a tinted one in my 200 as the normal one was out of stock, just paid the normal £60 excess, but when they ring up to book it in they usually ask if its tinted or not so just tell them the original spec one is.

edit stone chips can be repaired so it has to be pretty far gone to get it replaced mine had a roof tile fall onto it so was pretty unfixable.
