Windscreen washer not working.

2015/64 VW Passat. B7.
Windscreen washer stopped working despite reservoir being full. Fuse seems intact. Replaced the washer pump (had to part-remove the bumper).

With engine on and bonnet closed no sound from pump when activating by stalk.

What could it be?

Next step will be testing for power down to the motor. Do the wipers activate when you pull the stalk?

Are you sure it's not blocked in the filter in the washer resvoir ?

Can’t hear the usual whine of the pump.

I had the same issue on a 2016 skoda fabia (potentially the same motor as both similar age VAG cars?). No sounds from the motor.

I recall there are 2 fuses that are similarly named. I replaced both and it worked again.

A quick Google also suggests that some electrical parts on passats get disabled by the if the ECU thinks there's an issue. People suggest disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds as that should reset things, and if there's no actual fault with the pump, it should begin to work again.

I can’t find any mention of a 2nd fuse for the washer pump.

So, I disconnected the battery for around 30 secs and re-connected it. Washers now working. Thanks for all help.
