winfast a400 gt - is it rammed?

So eheres the stroy. Was playing a bit of warcarft this fine evening, went to run forward and the game crashes. Pc making strange noises and nothing on screen.

So i hard reset the box. Reboot, blank screen. Take the gfx card out have a look. Back in reboot nothing again. Got an old 5900 card out the download box and presto works fine.

Is my card shagged and if it is what should i repace it with?

ATM I have an msi neo plat 2 board with corsair memory a3500 cpu and of course the formentioned gt6800 AGP card.

All suggestions and tips very welcome.

your card is done, what is your system spec so we can find out if it would be cheaper to go pci-e or stay agp, more importantly what is your budget, psu and socket

Budget is not a real concern, been saving for a new rig for sometime, however, I have no need for an uber pc atm.

I currently run an msi neoplat 2 board with a 939 3500 amd. psu is an antec 430. 2 gig twin corsair xms. and a sata raid. the other bits n bobs r stuff like nic sound card etc.

If you want good performance which should keep that rig going for quite a while yet i would have to say get a PCIE motherboard & something like the Connect3D X1800XT selling this week for £160. Best value form money in my books.

What about a 7900 card? I'm a bit out the loop as you can see from my old rig, whats a good mid range card in the 7900 range.

I am admitidly an nvidia fan boy, but i've never pruchased an ATI card so I'm open to either really. The old 6800gt seemed quick enough for me so anything equal or better really.

What about Gainward GeForce 7900GT 512MB DDR3 PCIE DUAL DVI
