wing bolted or welded on?

My son has bought a mk5 fiesta 1.25 zetec 1999-2000. It needs a new passenger wing just wanting to know wether its bolted or welded on?

I have been informed it is;

"bolted and bonded I believe"

Which makes sense, other cars small cars I've taken apart have been like that.

Have you taken the wing off your e36 before? If so, is it easy?

No...just the 205...although I am going to be stripping the e36 in the next few days...so I may as well take a wing off and come back with an answer.

bolted I would have thought. if not it would be easy to split the seam. if the factory welded it up thats a bit stupid, lots of wings get replaced on cars.

Many cars have welded on wings, though it is less common these days.

No...just the 205...although I am going to be stripping the e36 in the next few days...so I may as well take a wing off and come back with an answer.

Pretty sure they are a bolt only job, hope so as I'm thinking of swapping the front wings on mine as both are a bit crumbly around the arches if you look close enough.

Tip for taking off bolted-on wings..Make sure you remove ALL the silly hidden away bolts before you try pulling the wing free!
