Grr... so I parked my car just outside Brent Cross tube yeaterday and spent all day in London and had a fabulours day.

Got back to the car and low and behold the drivers side mirror has been hit and the glass is cracked.

I need to get my MOT done this week and im sure they will take that into account and it will fail unless I get it sorted beforehand.

Where is the cheapest place to buy these replacements ?

I drive an Alfa 156 TS Veloce.

If the glass is still pretty much intact and you get desperate places like halfords do mirrors that you can stick on top of the shattered glass (aslong as the original glass is fairly intact)

That should get you out of a jam long enough to get the MOT done then you can sort it properly.
 
Is the housing body coloured?

Is the body coloured bit able to be easily seperated from the rest of the mirror?

Black mirrors are available on the internet really cheaply, for example VW wanted £220 for an electric wing mirror with heated glass and an extra £60 to spray it. I just bought a wing mirror online for £54, took me 30 minutes to fit (had to remove the whole interior door trim, a speaker, wire it up etc) and I just removed the old coloured housing and stuck it atop of the new wing mirror.

Went to my local Allparts shop and they had the exact one for my car (tinted as well).. £8 bargain !
