Winrar and Kaspersky

I'm presuming that Kaspersky will automatically pickup anything? I remember when you used to be able to select a virus scanner from within WinRAR.

Now it just says "Propose to select virus scanner"

I would have thought that if you have Kaspersky running it will pick stuff up. Don't think you need to worry as much about making each program you use use the AV as the AV should do it for you.

Does that make sense? Not entirely sure what you are asking.

It's as Marc says, that sort of option in programs is redundant as AV software has proactive resident protection that's scanning everything accessed and created.

yeah it scans as its opening a rar etc, mine just works automatically (can see the taskbar icon flashing) but I may not have the latest winrar.

You can tell Kaspersky to scan within archives and ignore if above x MB.

You don't even need to scan inside archives if you don't want to as the files within get chcked on extraction.
