Snowing quite well here at the moment. It isn't quite level with the kerbs on the road unfortunately, but predicted to run for a few more hours yet. I've just had two weeks off work and tomorrow should be the first day back, so quite honestly I'm quietly hoping it snows enough that I can call tomorrow a snow day, but we'll see how it continues. Luckily the office manager is very lenient when it comes to snow days so no pressure to try and struggle 25 miles in to work should the snow get much worse before tomorrow.

The local Facebook travel page shows loads of photos from people who have walked out to the A roads around the area to find they are completely white as well, so I'll be staying put today anyway.

Wasnt expecting to wake up to this... again...

Really inconsistent covering here - one of our sheds has 3 inches the one beside it has barely 1cm and clear patches, the drive has almost nothing but the pavement around an inch, etc.

Here it comes again in Southampton, heavy and laying again :)

Having not gone further outdoors than the garage, just before sunset, I've no idea what the conditions are like on main roads. Felt a bit slippy under foot on the partially thawed pavement, while the road was completely thawed.

But now the pavements and road are white again... Going to be fun deciding whether to cycle in on studded tyres tomorrow morning, or get the bus! Would rather not do the latter, as it looks like things could be back to normal in the afternoon, plus the bus is normally full of school kids and incredibly slow.

I keep forgetting there's a beast outside.. Monday will be interesting

Its forecast to warm up enough to thaw once the day gets going though those commuting early might find conditions less than ideal.

I got called into work early tonight due to the weather - which was a good thing as by my normal start time it had started snowing heavily where work was and already an inch on the ground in half an hour so we closed up.

Quite a nice drive to work this morning. The roads were dry and clear, but all the surrounding countryside was covered with snow. Wont be sad when it all thaws and spring finally arrives though.

Well the articles are appearing all over Facebook for another beast from the east for the easter weekend bloody hope not when is it going to end?

Each one looks like being progressively less severe until it fades out or the pattern switches like a um switch.

Probably best not to trust Facebook articles as a reliable source of information :p Forecast for a fairly nice weekend up here!

Its trying again - that was a -10 run a day ago now -12 - pretty much how the last 2 manifest.

As someone said on another forum "I think we broke the climate".

EDIT: If this had been 30 years ago we'd have probably had a good month of extreme weather with more snow days than less and few days it went above freezing.

BBC saying snow for 31st early morning :( I know that it a while away but the predictions have been pretty good apart from times this year so I suspect this is coming again unfortunately.

Also the ground being so wet nothing settled this time hopefully the same again.

Think its just gonna be Northern high ground this time probably - it isn't developing quite like the last two so far though that might change - its going to get cooler again here but still above 1C it looks like so no snow for me.

A third spell of snow next Thursday in Southampton....

[Calculon voice and pose]Noooooo!!!!!!!!!![/Calculon]

Unprecedented in my 25+ years down here and very unwelcome news.:(
