Winter 2023/24 - It's FREEZING!

A cool 7oC here this morning... Dry and sunny so the temps will likely rise to around 14/15 as the day goes on

I was hoping to hold off the heating until after October but, if it continues as it has, that may not be the case.

I'd rather crisp and dry than warmer and wet though.

We've stopped leaving the lounge windows almost permanently open since around May in the last few days, still keeping most room doors permanently open for now, but lounge thermometer has barely reached 20C since Wednesday. Still sitting around in shorts and t-shirt, but it was a bit chilly again last night, fell asleep on the sofa under a slanket!

Might well be one of the last days to go for a bike ride in summer kit, just need caffeine to work miracles waking me up and then deciding where to go... One way or another up Old Winchester Hill looks favourite, depressingly not visited any of its climbs this year.

Super lush day today.
Went for a group walk up the sugarloaf.

Getting around 21c without heating but have slightly closed the windows from being fully opened, loving the crispy colder mornings

Ran our heating for half an hour yesterday just in preparation for turning the thermostats back to program over the next week or two, and to check if radiators needing bleeding etc. Only one did. Boiler, however, started making a bit of a gurgling sound. Hoping this is just from lack of use from heating :D

House holding 18-19ºC at the moment, so definitely getting close to needing the heating on.

Where do you 'putting the heating on' guys live? I'm in Nottingham and it's been far too hot and humid to imagine it all day and night. September has been an ideal month temp wise for me here. I have started closing the window someway through the night to be fair and do wear a jumper when I take the dog out at 7am
