Currently making a big pot of scotch broth with lamb flank. My favourite meal ever!
It takes 6 hours to make but it's worth the effort.
What meals do you all make when the weather hits freezing?

Stew or campfire stew are our go to’s in this weather but have also made chilli, roast chicken, several different soups and rice pudding recently

Soup season for me!!

Haddock(or whatever fish you can find/get), leek & potato soup
Chicken and bacon
Scotch broth
Smoked ham hock + veg
Pea and ham soup
French onion soup.
Random veg soup, I basically just go around the farm shop and just grab random veg and throw it in a big pot.

Beef in stout is always a good option.
I do a Portuguese inspired stew where I stew sausage, chicken joints and ham in a stock and vegetables then finish with white beams and finely sliced cabbage.

But scotch broth with lamb flank sounds good.

I buy venison/beef and a big bone full of marrowfat whole onions, good stock an ale, round up the veg sitting there waiting to be cooked and throw in the pressure cooker.
