C&C appreciated :)

Its a nice picture.. but I think its a bit boring, the bottom leaf is also slightly out, theres no real contrast between the leaves which are forming the main focal point and the background, the orange/yellow bit in the top right part of the picture also looks like its been taken outside someone's window or something..

Too much blur for me. Maybe if it was cropped a little bit closer, it would look better but currently its giving me a headache.

hmm... I think its worse because by doing a tighter crop you've exaggerated the the out of focus leaf at the bottom,

give the whole shot another go, with a different composition, the colours look a bit funny for me as well, the green looks slightly odd.
Perhaps a real closeup shot of one of the leaves by itself with your lens wide open to get nice bokeh, could look quite nice with plenty of frost. I can see what your trying to achieve tho :)

i'm currently limited by the kitlens and its f/3.5 max aperture, which reduces to f/4 when shooting at 28mm (my preferred focal length).

Also, i can't take the shot again for two reasons. first, its not somewhere i go often, and secondly there isn't frost very often, so if i did go back it wouldn't be the same.

should i post the original image without crop + colour-fiddling?

Personally for me it's too saturated and too dark.

I think the impact of the frost is lost and becomes almost secondary to the tonal range.

Also I think it need more DoF, the most prominent leaf is out of focus and is distracting. Perhaps more blu on it might work, but personally I'd bring it within the DoF.
