So the dark nights are upon us and I'm in the market for a new PC ready for winter.

I'm looking to buy the parts over a few months. I'm thinking, motherboard, RAM and CPU first then then storage, peripherals and a case and then finally a GPU.

I'm not fussed about how any component looks, it's going to be stuck under a desk in a box.

I'm happy with either Intel or AMD.

In terms of use, in order:

Gaming. (FPS, Football Manager GTA when it comes out)
Video editing. (4K action camera footage)
Office and general browsing.

Over to you.

Gone AM5 8 core ,32gb memory but there are slightly cheaper motherboard if you go matx and you'll need a CPU cooler like the Thermalright peerless assassin.

Intel option 265k around the same price.

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £507.96 (includes delivery: £7.99)[/

Don't buy a bit here, a bit there, save up enough money so you can buy it all in one go. Buying parts piecemeal is the worst way to build a pc. While you wait for the rest you will have parts whose warranties are just ticking away and being wasted plus if you have any DOA componeents you will have to do a full RMA rather than just a exchange.

really sound advice, always get it all at the same time, also parts might be on special or better parts for cheaper than what you have sitting there before you finish buying the other parts:)
