Thought I'd get this going as we are just about to book ours!

We are heading back to Val Thorens in January, only 5 of us going this time instead of the normal 12ish so hopefully will be a lot more manageable!

Also I've lost a bit of weight so will need to get new ski jacket and salopettes this year £££££ :p

So whats everyones plans for this winter?

I've got Tignes booked for April but hoping to add a couple more trips. If the weather behaves, we've been flirting with Courchevel in December.

Probably a good time of year to buy ski gear!

Love Tignes, wanted to go again this time but one of our group is already booked on for April too and didn't want to go in Jan as well.

Salopettes ordered - just looking for a jacket now

Got the best part of 3 weeks booked in Breck for April next year. Passes bought for A-basin and Copper as well.

Also some chat about a back country trip to Norway at some point as well.

Niiiice! Colorado is on the skiing wish list, one day!

Do it!

Fantastic place, snow sure to the “end” of the season of mid April. Also got other places nearby like Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone (all Epic pass if you go the more expensive pass, though the Summit Pass covers Breck and Keystone), Copper, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland. More an hour or two away as well like Winter Park. Buy season passes the Autumn before or multi-
day passes before you go, as day ticket prices are ridiculous at the window at the Epic/Icon pass resorts ($300 a day at Breck/Vail now).

In years gone by I stayed down in Frisco with a hire car, but Summit County has a fantastic free bus service that connects the towns to Breck, Keystone, Copper and A-Basin so if I have an away day I just hop on the bus to somewhere else.

There’s not a massive night life scene in the US resorts like Europe but there’s reasonable restaurants and bars in Breck. Prices have been LOL the last few years though for food in town.

Tinges booked end of January and probably Sainte Foy mid Jan. Haven't been to either so will be good to see some different places. Got a week set aside in March as well but will book something last minute if snow conditions are good somewhere

As usual I will be booking last minute to go solo somewhere I haven’t been before - where that is will be pot luck (or who has what offers on for the next weekend). Due to work expected to be manic in March it might have to be a bit earlier in the year than normal for me, so not violently cold + big enough to not got bored skiing morning till afternoon 6 days in a row and I’ll be happy.

Not booked yet but our only leave is Feb half term, in 2026 all UK countries and 2 French regions share the same week off  Norway is looking a good option for us, anyone been or could recommend a resort?

We found super limited availability when we looked for February half term. Have resigned ourselves to going in 2027 instead.

We shifted our dates slightly to get a better price, we fly out on the Tuesday of half term, packages were limited or crazy expensive but we booked everything separately.
Flights directly with SAS LHR - Oslo £497 2 adults 1 teen 1 child and all our luggage, hotel through boooking.com at roughly £1k for 7nights B&B, £200 car hire for the week, 6 day passes were £900 and ski hire £380, I was very happy with that compared to package prices.

Typical half term at Kitzbuehel and Saalbach for us Feb half term. The costs of accommodation, for the longest time very agreeable in the extended Tirol/Salzburgerland have skyrocketed...

I feel like half term prices are just crazy this year so much that i might just take out of school. With the years of dodgy snow though its hit and miss to book in advance.

I feel the same, might just be the way they've fallen this year has pushed it up, 2 French regions, England and Wales all share the same week.
