Winter Transfer window 24/25

Utterly bizarre for Duran and Al Nassr. If they want to raise the profile of the game over there, big names will do it more than actual talent.

Is it confirmed?

Sounds quite likely.

@Lonewolf I suppose it's possible but I can't see Villa selling both of their strikers at the end of the January window...

Dorgu? I wouldn't say £25m is "massively overpaying" at all. Other clubs have been interested and were quoted more. All depends on how he performs I suppose.
Have they? There were some very tentative links to Chelsea a couple of months back...before those his value was quoted around 15 million euro

According to where? Everywhere I can see says they wanted 25m in the summer, not very reliable sources though.
I've just had a look at the what the gossip sites were saying and yeah, lecce apparently valued him at 40 million euros (same as this window) and were laughed at because he as massively overvalued at that price, until of course you guys rock up and manage to knock a couple of million euros off. prior to those weak links in the summer he was valued at 15-20 million, 10x what Lecce paid for him.

Again, according to where?

Villa is mad to sell their 2nd striker towards the 2nd half of the season, even if for the amount they are getting. He only signed a new contract in the summer so there is no pressure to sell and as I understand it, they are not under pressure from PSR this financial year anyway?

If Watkins gets injured who do they play up front? Rogers and Ramsey?

I actually don't blame Duran going for money, I don't know what kind of upbringing he had in Columbia, he might prefer living in Riyadh than Birmingham even. Who knows but from Villa's perspective...they are in the CL still and they already shown their form in the PL isn't that great post CL matches so they need more bodies, not fewer.

i dont think this watkins thing is over and apparently we bid for him a week ago after he was offered to us for 60mill but we bid 40

Why are villa potentially getting rid of two strikers unless they see this last chance to get good money for a 29 year old?

Mitoma to Al Nassr bid rejected c£52m. He looks decent but £50m when we can't get someone to pay that for Garnacho ( not that I want him sold). Doesn't hold out much hope of us shipping Casemiro out there.

Rightfully rejected, but sounds like they may come back with a bigger offer. Too close to the end of the window.

I’d hate to see him go, so hopefully we hold strong. He doesn’t seem like the type of guy who would have his head turned by massive money.
